disappointed in myself—I always wanted to become a lawyer, despite often hearing advice (and lawyer jokes) cautioning otherwise.
What’s the most unusual thing in your office?
I’d have to say it’s a three-way tie between my regional student Emmy nomination, my Star Trek tri‑dimensional chess set, and my print of this photo of Luciano Pavarotti on a scooter.

Bio
I like to compare the relationship between start-ups and their attorneys to the relationship between architects and their engineers. Start-ups and architects each have a vision, and engineers and lawyers help their counterparts understand how to use the laws (whether the laws of physics, for engineers, or laws of society, for lawyers) to materialize their visions. With that in mind, I pride myself on providing solution-oriented counsel to companies of all sizes, always with the goal of equipping them with the insights they need—whether technical or practical—to make optimal strategic decisions.
