Letter from the Editors

All everyone can talk about these days are cryptocurrencies and the stock market. While there are still skeptics regarding cryptocurrencies and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), there is little doubt that cryptocurrencies are here to stay and they are proving to be useful capital-raising tools for emerging companies. In many instances, the ICO has replaced the “seed round” of investing. We at Mintz Levin are deeply involved in the nexus between digital tokens and securities regulations, and to anyone considering an ICO, you should consider contacting us to understand the “Ins” and “Outs” and nuances involved. As to the stock market, time will tell if the “bulls” are correct. But one thing we do know is that the private company markets correlate and follow the public equity markets, which means that there are significant pools of capital available for emerging companies. All of which means it is a great time to start and grow a new enterprise because capital is available and the tools to raise capital continue to expand.
