Meet Yilei He
I have a knack for telling people apart by listening to their footsteps.
If I weren’t a lawyer, I would be …
a national park ranger or a mountaineering guide in alpine areas. I love spending time in the mountains – it helps me appreciate life and focus on the important things.
My favorite app?
It changes all the time. Currently it’s Two Dots: hands down, the most elegant game on the market.
If I started a company,
it would provide a virtual private tutor that adapts to a child’s individual educational needs.
Great transactions are in the details: getting them right means drafting, reviewing, and negotiating each document, down to every word. Prior to joining Mintz Levin, I spent four years at a top wall-street law firm and have worked with buyers and sellers in a variety of industries. My transaction experience covers both public and private: mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and financings. Being able to see a deal from both sides is definitely a negotiating advantage. For each transaction, I repeatedly parse the nuances and priorities—what has to be there, what can’t, and everything in between—to pursue the best deal and the greatest value. For your emerging company’s transactions, you need an attorney with real deal experience, not a novice transaction lawyer with a learning curve. Understanding the client’s goals thoroughly is equally essential. I was trained as a scientist in biomedical sciences in college and spent some real bench time in a graduate program at Harvard. I am passionate about the latest developments in science and technology and am committed to helping my clients turn their ideas into products and grow their ventures. Clients want their lawyers to be versed in deal terms as well as business strategies—this team is fluent in both!
